4 Natural Products Proven To Regrow Afro Textured Hair!!!
Slow hair growth, stunted hair growth, and alopecia (hair loss) can affect anyone regardless of race; however, it's a common concern among many Black Women.
This is especially true because Afro textured hair while beautiful, is also more delicate due to its coily and curly nature.
Alopecia in Black Women is caused by different reasons such as autoimmune disease, excessive or improper chemical hair processing, and traction alopecia, which can come from hairstyles and hairpieces that create strain on our hair follicles.
After consulting with your medical doctor to identify and treat the cause of your slow and/or stunted hair growth and alopecia, you may be wondering if there are natural alternatives to help regrow the hair you have lost.
Clinical scientific studies conducted by medical professionals have identified natural essential oils, proven to stimulate hair growth when used topically on the scalp.
There are 4 oils in particular that help stimulate hair growth over time with repeated use, regardless of hair texture.
PEPPERMINT OIL
The U.S. National Library of Medicine released a study conducted about how peppermint oil could promote hair growth without causing toxic side effects. A group of scientists tested the effect of peppermint oil for hair growth on 6 mice that were divided into 4 groups, based on the topical application of either saline (aka salt water), jojoba oil, 3% minoxidil (aka Rogaine), or peppermint oil to their shaved backs over the period of 4 weeks. By the end of the trial, the peppermint oil group of mice had the most hair growth, with an increase in hair thickness, number of hair follicles, and increase in depth of hair. Outside of this study there are also many people that have reported success in using peppermint oil to regrow their hair, regardless of cause of hair loss.

ROSEMARY OIL
The U.S. National Library of Medicine released a randomized clinical trial conducted by a team of scientists comparing Rosemary oil vs Minoxidil 2% (aka Rogaine). A group of patients who were diagnosed with androgenic alopecia ( hair loss resulting from too much androgen DHT hormones) were divided into 2 groups. One group was given Rosemary Oil, and the other given Minoxidil 2% to use topically on their scalps for a period of 3 to 6 months. While 3 months of use had no results for either group, it was found that after 6 months of use the Rosemary Oil caused a significant amount of hair growth, just as the Minoxidil 2%! It was concluded that the trial provided evidence that using Rosemary Oil was effective in the treatment of Androgenic Alopecia. Outside of this study there are also many people that have reported success in using rosemary oil to regrow their hair, regardless of the cause of hair loss.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine released a study conducted about the hair growth-promoting effects of lavender oil in female mice. The mice were divided into 4 groups based on the topical application of either saline (salt water), jojoba oil, 3% minoxidil, and lavender oil which was applied to the backs of the female mice once per day, 5 times a week, for 4 weeks. At the end of the trial, it was observed that the lavender oil caused a significant increase of hair follicles, hair thickness, and hair in hair depth in the group of mice. The scientists determined that Lavender Oil could be practically applied as a hair growth-promoting agent. Outside of this study there are also many people that have reported success in using lavender oil to regrow their hair, regardless of the cause of hair loss.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine released a study conducted about how red ginseng oil promotes hair growth based on its ability to enhance skin function, including hair growth. Scientists shaved the back of 6 mice and divided them into 2 groups based on the application of either red ginseng oil or minoxidil (aka Rogaine), applied topically to their shaved skin for a period of 21 consecutive days. The results at the end of the trial were that red ginseng oil caused not only a significant increase in hair growth, density, and thickness of the mice's hair follicles, but it also protected the skin against inflammation. It was concluded by the scientists that red ginseng oil would be a potent agent in preventing and treating hair loss, while protecting the skin. Outside of this study there are also many people that have reported success in using red ginseng oil to regrow their hair, regardless of the cause of hair loss.
PREPARATION
These essential oils should be combined with a carrier oil such as olive, jojoba, or almond oil to dilute them due to their strong concentration, which can cause irritation to the scalp and skin if applied without being diluted first.
Keep in mind that while these essential oils are a natural alternative, the user must take into account that allergic reaction is still possible.
It is recommended by the American Academy of Dermatologists that users of new skincare products such as these oils, first perform a skin test on a small area such as the inside of your elbow with the oil for the first few days to determine if you will have an allergic reaction.
You will first need to mix 3 to 4 drops of the essential oil with about 1 tablespoons of a carrier oil such as olive, almond, or jojoba before preforming the skin test, because the essential oils are automatically too potent to be used on skin alone.
While there is no guarantee that any product will regrow your hair or speed up its growth, many people have reported success in using these 4 essential oils, as they have all been proven scientifically to promote hair growth.
