Benefits of Physical Activity for Black Women

          
Did you know that physical activity supports both physical and mental health? 

You don't have to be as limber as the amazing ladies in our cover photo either!


The CDC & U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends 150 minutes per week of physical activity for adults to support our health.


Just 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week of simple cardiovascular exercise such as brisk walking, dancing, or playing not only manages our weight, but reduces our risk of disease, strengthens our bones & muscles, improves our brain health, & also improves our ability to do everyday activities. 

Adults who move more, and sit less throughout the day greatly improve their chances of living longer!
